The annual film festival organised by The National Palace of Culture,  is already in its 33rd year (started during socialism ;-) and eagerly awaited by Sofianites as the winter evenings draw in and people are looking for that special reason to venture out.
Kinomania (Cinemania) features a variety of local and international productions from the best to the most provocative, the top runners from other film festivals around Europe and international classics (Focus on Franco Zeffirelli this year) as well as new releases not yet seen on the big screen in Bulgaria. The many 'Faces of Cinematography' from hit production to golden classics, children's movies, culinary and music films, autobiographical and documentary screenings and a French Film Festival are all represented.
Although the site for online ticket sales is now also in English, it still might be easier getting your tickets at the NDK ticket centre.
