If you want a hefty helping of kitsch along with your greasy Chinese food then Canton will fit the bill. Duck inside the ornate entrance and wander past the bubbling fountain to the dining room, complete with carved wood and gold-flecked wallpaper accented with lanterns that haven’t seen an update since the 1970s. Not a single decorative cliche is spared, which seems to delight the tables of Polish diners swapping plates of westernized dishes like sweet and sour pork and crisp egg rolls. Anywhere else this place would be an ironic hipster paradise, but in Warsaw the hefty portions are perfect for hangovers and the cheapskate hostel residents next door.
