Behind the Central Post Office, the forum and the well preserved 300-seater Odeon once covered a massive 11 hectares and would have featured shops and public buildings. The forum would have been the focal point of city life even before the Romans annexed the city: evidence suggests that the original forum was built in the Greek fashion at the beginning of the 1st century A.D., when the city was still Philipoppolis.
Currently not accessible to the public as it undergoes full reconstruction.
