Boasting a tranquil walled garden full of greenery, the Balabanov house is host to frequent cultural events such as exhibitions of local art, concerts, craft workshops and literary evenings. Razed to the ground in the 1930s the house we see today was reconstructed according to the original plan. The second storey recreates the life of the wealthy merchants who would have lived here, with late Baroque furniture, painted trompe l'oeil niches and carved wooden ceilings.
