Probably no local person has made so much to bring an international fame to Pamplona as one foreigner did. Ernest Hemingway, the great American writer, turned the world’s attention to the passion of the bullfight and bull-run. His devotion to the city and Navarre as a whole is well-documented. One of the greatest traveler’s challenges is following Hemingway’s footsteps in the region. Such a tour should start from Plaza del Castillo, where the writer used to spend a lot of his time at cafes and bars. But the trip is not restricted to Pamplona alone – you have to see Navarre Pyrenees, especially the area in and around the town of Aribe. It’s all achievable within a day.
