Day Trip Pamplona: A trip around Navarre – Tudela, Pyrenees, Urbasa
more than a year agoLocated on the banks of the Ebro river, Tudela has been a significant location during the times when Arabs conquered practically all territory of what is now Spain back in the 8th century. So, the Muslim heritage in culture and architecture is evident in the town. Tudela has been a place of diversity for centuries, and the Christian monuments and temples are also impressive. The place worth the trip not only for the sightseeing but also for the cuisine.
The Pyrenees also represents a fantastic choice for a daily trip with the family. Whether it be for hiking or biking, canoeing or even climbing, the area is just great for sports. If you go there for camping, make sure to head up well equipped. And take on a bit of advice from local people which place is suitable and allowed to place a tent.
Looking to the west, near the road to the city of Vitoria you will find Urbasa-Andia Natural Park. The area is beautiful, and you can easily spend several hours there just walking or relaxing.
An alternative for a day-long trip near Pamplona is heading southwest to Logrono. This city is the capital of Rioja, the most significant Spanish wine region. Besides that, there is a greater variety of fun and games for the kids.
