Edvard Munch is one of the most famous artists whose home country was Norway. The Munch Museum hosts about half of his original painted and written works, as well as fine reproductions of the missing half. That collection consists of 1200 paintings, 18000 prints, 2240 books, 500 plates, six sculptures, and a considerable number of Munch's personal belongings.
All those treasures will soon have a new home since the Munch Museum will move in a new building in the area of Bjørvika by 2020.
