Probably the trendiest Israeli eatery for the more gentile hipster crowd, The Hummus was founded by a couple that spent several years living in Israel and who then came home with a mission to popularize Israeli and Middle Eastern street food in the Russian capital. After changing several locations, The Hummus’ permanent address is the super hip Danilovsky market. The menu’s got everything you’d expect an Israeli street food joint to: falafel in pita, Sabih in pita, various hummus platters, kebabs and, of course, the star of any Israeli menu – the hearty shakshuka. Wash it all down with a bubaleh lemonade or an Israeli coffee and save room some knaffe or baklava.
