Jao Da is a bizarre fusion of restaurant, bar and club, attracting a younger and older crowd in equally large numbers. The chilled-out vibe underground is infectious, so try your best not to be in a hurry – the waiters probably won’t be either! With live music and drinks flowing you'll inevitably stumble across a drunk chat or two and if you're lucky a Russian toast; it all adds to the atmosphere. This place is ideal for a bigger group, but you’re more than likely to make a few friends too, so don't be shy! Their salty and savoury snacks really hit the spot so don't worry about that hunger craving after a few drinks, they have the perfect cure.
When I lived near Moscow this was one of my favourite places to go. While the prices were higher than typical, the food was good and the atmosphere was favourable. Good music, open all night. Definitely worth a visit.
