This historical hotel first opened in 1913 and was known in the Soviet Union as Hotel Berlin. In 2005 it underwent full renovation and was transformed into a modern, five star hotel with all the trimmings. The lobby is covered in marble and gold plate leaf, while the adjacent lounge bar has a modern, striking purple lighting effect. The rooms, made up with stately Italian furniture and Russian oil paintings, have received the attention of more than one Italian designer. The restaurant is classically styled and boasts an ornate, moulded ceiling, a Vrubel-inspired fountain, original Venetian mirrors and marble columns.
