A museum dedicated to the work of the Soviet-era, non-conformist painter Anatoly Zverev, AZ Museum was opened a few years ago but is already a must for anyone with an interest in contemporary art. The artist is considered the founder of the "Russian impressionism" of the 1960s, but his style of painting is very much his own. AZ Museum is the perfect place to get acquainted with his art since it holds the largest collection of Zverev’s paintings in the world with over 1,500 of his works and 500 works of those he affiliated himself with (Plavisnky, Nemukhin, Rabin and many others).
