The closest thing Kostroma has to a genuine hipster bar, the atmosphere here can resemble the various bars at Dumskaya ul. in St. Petersburg. The bartenders love entertaining customers with their wizardry flipping bottles, cups and shotglasses while fetching drinks. At night, the music is loud and the bar is packed, but there is a nice chillout space upstairs, as well as a second bar. There is a great patio on the street and the food and service are both above average for Kostroma, featuring original salads, soups and pastas as well as a unique take on some Russian classics and, of course, sushi. A pleasant place to sit outside in the evening or to get your drink on late into the night.
