Take a large surfboard and a paddle and you're off into the lake! Stand-up paddling (also known as SUP) was the method Polynesian fishermen used on Hawaiian waters. In the meantime the trend has made its way over to the calm lake waters of Switzerland and is accessible to people of all ages and skill levels. Standing upright on the surfboard you can paddle through Lake Lucerne surrounded by a stunning landscape of snow-capped mountains. There are two lakeside rental centres in Lucerne: at the Lido beach club close to the Transport Museum or across the lake at the Tribschen beach club, located just beyond the Richard Wagner Museum.
