One of four Tate galleries in the United Kingdom (two of which are located in London), the Tate Modern may just be the finest. It does exactly what you expect, namely celebrating and exploring international art from 1900 to the present day. It is the second most-visited museum in the UK, and all of the permanent exhibitions are free to explore.
