Everyone knows that ul. Piotrkowska is the place to go to take in Łódź history and local beauty. But few know about the beautiful tenement house located on the street, which now holds one of the city's top Pierogarnias set against a cozy, historic backdrop. First, the food: There are so many types of mouth watering pierogi to choose from (made with local ingredients) at Pierogarnia Stary Młyn: stewed beef and onions, duck leg in wine, spinach or sorrel mushrooms, the list goes on and on and on and.... There are also plenty of other Polish delicacies to try here, from the ever-popular potato pancakes to comforting soups, bigos and so much more.

The building is historic, too! Built at the beginning of the 20th century in the Art Nouveau style, the building is five stories and has an impressive facade showing the beginnings of modernism in architecture (Fun fact: the first book rental for children and teenagers in Łódź opened here in 1945).
