Memorial Mounds are quite the thing in Poland, and Łódź is no different, with one dedicated to the memory of Jan Karski in The Survivor's Park (Park Ocalałych), in the northern part of the city in the district of Bałuty. Jan Karski is remembered in the history books as the man who tried to stop the Holocaust.
