Artur Rubenstein Mural
Rubenstein was born at ul. Rewolucji 1905r. 28 in 1887 and quickly demonstrated his musical aptitude from a very young age. While his father initially aimed to steer him towards the violin, Artur gravitated more towards the piano and, by the age of four, he was already recognised as a child prodigy. Moving to Berlin, Paris and London, he eventually made a life for himself in the United States at the end of World War Two. Rubenstein is widely regarded as one of the greatest pianists of all time, favouring recitals of another accomplished Polish pianist, Fryderyk Chopin!
