„Händel as you have never heard him before!” – such is the slogan advertising the latest staging of the Messiah under the baton of Marin Alsop. Handel's revamped work draws heavily on jazz, gospel, R&B, soul, funk and pop.

**Too Hot to Handel: The Gospel Messiah**

The NSOPR orchestra will be joined by top-tier Polish saxophonists, the Polish National Youth Choir, BBC Concert Orchestra soloists, as well Zwakele Tshabalala, a young tenor from South Africa, and the mezzo-soprano Vanessa Haynes, one of the most recognisable soul voices from the United Kingdom. What will the famous Ha-lle-lu-jah sound like in this interpretation?
