Metal Hammer Festival takes place in Katowice's coolest (albeit weird) space, Spodek, the structure that looks like a flying saucer. This year's festival's headliner is an American alternative metal band from Sacramento, California, Deftones. The band is known as one of the most experimental groups to have come from the alternative metal scene, and are sometimes dubbed by critics as "the Radiohead of metal". They have released eight albums to date, with two Platinum (Adrenaline, White Pony) and two Gold certifications (Around the Fur, Deftones). The band consists of Chino Moreno (lead vocals and guitar), Stephen Carpenter (guitar), Frank Delgado (keyboards and turntables), Abe Cunningham (drums and percussion). Since 2009, and Sergio Vega (bass).
