This mural honouring Nobel laureate Maria Goeppert Mayer, who was born in Katowice in 1906, and awarded the Nobel for Physics in 1963 (along with J. Hans D. Jensen and Eugene Wigner) for discoveries concerning nuclear shell structure. This piece was designed by The Krasnals group and the work undertaken by Wakeuptime in 2014. The whole project was a collaboration between Katowice Miasto Ogrodów and Katowice University. Although located on the building at ul. Bankowa 12, the piece is round the back, so best walk along the path at the corner of ul. Moniuszki and ul. Szkolna.
