Originally built in 1934 as the Adolf-Hitler-Kampfbahn (The Adolf Hitler Arena), the name survived until 1946. Later home to Górnik Zabrze, the stadium was again renamed in 2005 after a campaign to recognise legendary footballer Ernest Pohlgained momentum. The stadium, currently undergoing renovation, has an official capacity of 24,563 (31,871 after completion of renovation).
