The city stadium in Gliwice (Stadion Miejski w Gliwicach) is a 10,037 capacity stadium, home to local side Piast Gliwice. Originally built in 1927, it underwent renovation in the 1960s, and right up to the 21st century, it still had wooden benches. The last game in the old stadium was played on 26 September 2010, and two days later, renovation work began. The new stadium was inaugurated on 5 November 2011.
