Nirox Foundation, in partnership with the National School of the Arts, present a day of innovative theatre and performance in the magnificent grounds of the Nirox Sculpture Park, culminating with an African interpretation of Shakespeare's classic comedy, A Midsummer Night's Dream.

The Theatre in the Park day opens at noon with Walking Tall, a physical theatre performance presented by PAST (Palaeontological Scientific Trust) in the park's poplar forest. This is followed at 13:30 by a select reading of Shakespeare's sonnets by South African actors David Butler and Brenda Sakellarides on the main lawn.

The highlight of the day's agenda is a reimagined A Midsummer Night's Dream set in 'a South African urban plastic jungle' with live accompaniment by musician-in-residence Lerato Lichaba and Tubatsi Moloi from The Urban Village ensemble (starts at 15:00) performed in the park's natural amphitheatre.
