The area along Jan Smuts Avenue in Rosebank and Parkwood is Joburg's very own Art Gallery Row with a number of top contemporary galleries such as Goodman Gallery, David Krut Projects, Circa and Everard Read to check out.
In and around downtown Joburg you can also find plenty of places where you can explore the burgeoning contemporary art scene including galleries such as Kalahshnikovv, Standard Bank Gallery and a number of exciting artist studio collectives (usually only available to visit by appointment) such as Bag Factory Studios and August House.
