The Aparthotel is steadily growing in popularity, particularly post-pandemic, appealing to travellers who enjoy more space, and comfort at less than hotel prices. It's also refreshing to have the option of your own kitchen facilities and a choice between eating out, ordering in or comfortably cooking up your own meal, as well as the security and convenience of front desk service.
Reserved Suites has a mix of room types that include more studio-style accommodation (the Executive Rooms and Studios with a View both come with fridge, kettle and Nespresso machines), as well as the option of self-catering in the Deluxe Self-Catering Studios, and One Bedroom Suites. All beautifully appointed with executive travellers in mind.
As of April 2022 Reserved Suites has 33 serviced apartments with plans to add a further 27. We visited and were struck by the beautiful views over Joburg's tree-lined suburbs, and the ease of living on offer. Reserved Suites has a gym and the Café on Central situated on the 8th floor which opens for breakfast, lunch and early dinner. In summer it's likely you'll be hanging out at the 8th floor infinity pool with its glorious views over the city.
Another great asset is the location of Reserved Suites Illovo. This distinctive aparthotel sits midway between Joburg's key business and retail centres, Rosebank and Sandton, both of which are served by a Gautrain station. From the Sandton station you can reach OR Tambo International Airport in less than 15 minutes.
The glitzy Hyde Park Corner shopping centre with its many designer shops is also a short drive away as is the fancy Melrose Arch precinct and the busy Rosebank business district, known for its wide variety of restaurants, cafes and bars.
There are also some great restaurants within walking distance of Reserved Suites Illovo such as the upmarket Mastrantonio Italian restaurant or the Argentinean steakhouse Don Armando down the road at the Illovo Square centre. For a sunny weekend lunch Cafe 28 in nearby Inanda serves some of the best pizzas in Sandton with the greenest garden views, while if you are a vegetarian you can't beat the offering at the Indian cafe and deli Baps Shayona in Illovo's Thrupps shopping centre.
Guests are also eligible for special offers at The WorkSpace, a co-working and shared office solution with branches nearby, including Melrose Arch.
