Lady Skollie's latest exhibition Groot Gat at the Standard Bank Art Gallery adds a superb sonic experience on First Thursday with a performance by Lesotho-born singer and rapper, Morena Leraba. 

With humour, sharp insights and vivid colour, the exhibition seeks to address and explores the erasure of indigenous culture in Africa and historically overlooked or marginalised artistic traditions. 

Leraba takes the stage at 19:00 and promises a performance that resonates with the spirit of the exhibition. Known for his unique blend of traditional Sesotho lyrics, seamlessly intertwined with genres like electro, afro house and hip-hop Leraba's performance pays homage to the deep-rooted traditions of Lesotho's music, poetry, and the sub-genre known as famo. 

Leraba's music, with its lyrical depth and fusion of genres provides the perfect soundtrack to Lady Skollie's thought-provoking and visually stunning art pieces.
