Luxury shopping complex LXX Sandhurst, opened mid-2024, at 70 Rivonia Road (hence the Roman numerals LXX) on what was once the campus of technology giant IBM. Built to take advantage of Joburg's most often sunny and mild weather, it's an outdoor complex focused on lifestyle.

It's short walk from there to Discovery's grand glass and steel headquarters, and padel courts, that face Sandton City' in what is dubbed Joburg's richest square mile for its concentration of top South African companies and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.

With a Tashas LXX, a super luxe new tashas, a branch of pastry and coffee corner Dough & Co, and Baglios ice cream kiosk, plus a souped up Checkers, the complex is an enticing stop. The look is elegant, and to complement to restaurant offering there are a number of beauty stops, including one of our favourites from Craighall and Birdhaven, Toast & Co.
