Johannesburg-based artist Luci Fernandes-Stangl presents a new body of work titled anonymous.

Fernandes-Stangl uses a range of mediums from oil on canvas to mixed media in order to explore addiction, alcoholism and recovery. An incredibly personal show, the works provide a nuanced perspective of the emotions and challenges those going through recovery face. The exhibition features portraiture of women in recovery, group portraits and anonymous portraiture. Speaking on the exhibition Fernandes-Stangl says, "I have tried to capture as best I could those emotions so prevalent to individuals in recovery, to capture the energy in a room, [and] the fellowship between people that have all suffered from addiction and alcoholism and are walking through recovery."
