Very little remains of this one proud palace in Llandaff. In fact, the only real recognisable feature is the old gatehouse, but that alone gives precious insight into what was once a remarkable piece of work. This was less a palace and more a fortress, built in the 13th century and badly damaged during the rebellion of Owain Glyndwr at the beginning of the 15th. The gatehouse is all that remains today, but it is now thankfully protected.
