Opened in 1954, Cardiff Airport (CWL) services a number of destinations both domestic and international. Low-cost continental airlines make up the majority of flights, with plenty of seasonal routes to the sunnier side of Europe. The nearest train station to the airport is Rhoose Cardiff International Airport, and there are direct buses from here to the departures terminal, shuttles that take about 10 minutes and cost a measly pound. The T9 shuttle bus from the city centre to the airport every 30 minutes, at the cost of £5.
