The Palais des Festivals, located on Boulevard de la Croisette, is the hub for the cinema activity. The very famous Cannes Film Festival is held here in the month of May, every year. Unfortunately, the actual film festivals are not open to the public, only film stars and other invited guests can attend. However, for those who are prepared to go early in the morning, it is possible to see celebrities from the bottom of the steps. To see the films, the public can head over to Macé Beach where people are allowed access for free, but on a first come first serve basis. On the side of Palais des Festivals, celebrities starring in films shown at the Cannes Film Festivals have their handprints embedded in the pavement. Other activities also take place in this building, the International Television Programme Market, Music Trade Show, and the G20 summit.
