As a historical town, Antibes has many ancient artefacts that have been collected from the sea and other places around the town. Both Greek and Roman living ways are understood better through the exhibitions at Musee d'Archeologie, the archaeological museum formed in 1963 and housed in the 17th-century military building constructed by Vauban, Saint-André Bastion. Guided tours are available in English and French. Not only is the museum just for exhibitions, but many visitors are also after the beautiful coastal scenes that can be captured from the location, Avenue Général Maizière.
