Citadel of Saint-Tropez is a historic building that houses one of the most visited attractions in Saint Tropez, the Maritime History Museum. Located on Montée de la Citadelle, the museum exhibits the work, artefacts, and other objects that allow us to have a glimpse of the lives of sailors as well as the sea activities that took place many centuries ago. Visitors are told stories of Cape Horn and the fishing that took place in the 20th century using the historic tall ships. The displays are housed in the dungeon, a once defence tower built in 1602 by the king’s engineer. The displayed objects and the history told here, make what Saint Tropez is today.
