Opened in 1910 as the first public astronomical observatory in Romania, through the patronage of Admiral Vasile Urseanu, naval influences are clearly visible in the architecture of the newly restored building. Visitors can currently take part in astronomical observations with modern, professional instruments, as well as projections in the digital planetarium. A new exhibition focused on astronomy will open to the public later this year.
