One of the oldest churches in Bucharest (with parts dating back to the 16th century, when it served as the church of the Târnovului Monastery) the Apostles' Church is notable for its sublime steeple, built in 1715 and restored in 1936. Inside the church is brimming with some rather strange portraits, all of which are well worth seeing. Among the portraits are those of the church's founder, Voivod Matei.
