This Cubist building was completed in 1926, and is home to a permanent exhibition of the Jewish Community Museum in its upper floor. The synagogue was designed by Artur Szalatnai and is instantly recognisable, its exterior pillars giving it an air of importance before one even steps foot inside the place. The Heydukova Street Synagogue is the only active synagogue in Bratislava today, another harsh reminder of the terror inflicted on the Jewish people during World War II.
