If you don’t mind a basic room, this former monastery is a great place to spend a couple of nights. Far away from the hustle and bustle of busy Willemstad, this historic building and its grounds offer enough tranquillity to fully recharge your batteries. But don't even think of coming here if you don’t like dogs as the helpful German owners look after four canines who have free reign of the premises. Inside one of the wings of this charming building dating back to 1783 is a Spartan room equipped with a comfortable double bed and all the other amenities you might need when staying overnight in the tropics. We especially appreciated the cosy courtyard that includes its own fruit garden.
