With unlimited amounts of sun and wind, it may come as no surprise that wind generators have become a reliable source of energy on the island. The Tera Kora wind farm near San Pedro has been in operation since 1993 and a second park, Playa Konia, was constructed less than a decade ago. Together the plants produce enough energy to satisfy the needs of 6,000 households each day.
