Taxis are safe and generally reliable. There are taxi stands in piazza XX Settembre and corso Vittorio Emanuele II. From the city centre, expect to pay €10 to the Industrial Port (€20 between 22:00 and 06:30) and €50 to Alghero-Fertilia Airport. Few taxi drivers speak English, so it's a good idea to write down the address, or to call someone who can explain.
