There’s no lack of green spaces in Porto Torres. The parks (parco, in Italian) are well kept and bigger than you’d expect for a city of its size. Families can take their kids to the games area inside the Belvedere Park (via Balai), and to San Gavino Park (via Sassari) which also has a picnic area. Chico Mendes Park (strada Litoranea Platamona) stretches out behind the promenade, and looking on to the bay of Balai there’s the Baden Powell Park (via Tramontana) which has over 7 hectares equipped with picnic areas and a jogging circuit. Adjoining the Baden Powell Park is the Quattrozampe Park (via Tramontana), dedicated to your four legged friends, complete with doggy games, drinking troughs and waste bins to keep the area clean. All of the above-mentioned areas are open to the public from early morning to nightfall.
