Sabunjar

  Jadranska 99      (+385-23) 34 03 55     14 May 2024
Some traditions are very much worth reviving, and if those traditions involve tender-as-anything meat cooked under a hermetically-sealed ash-covered lid, then we’re all aboard this delicious train. Sabunjar is one of the best places in Zadar to taste lamb cooked most traditionally, so get yourself on the main road to Split and keep an eye out for the Studenac hypermarket; Sabunjar is just across the road.

The restaurant is far more further from the main road Zagrebacka than showed on the map... we went there by feet and was really far!The lamp wasn't so good as well we received only a small portion of meet on the bones (they called it grilled lamp for 200 kuna for a kg). Still we had to pay for 600g (mostly bones!). Also we got a big portion of bread, only my husband ate 1 piece and we had to pay for 2 portions! (I did not eat at all)I only can recommend this place if you speak the native language as even if we know 4 languages it was very hard to communicate with the waiter...
