Summer road trips
The summer's coming to a close, but it's supposed to be hot throughout August so you still have time to explore the Latvian countryside. Take a road trip to the nation’s most impressive 18th-century architectural monument at Rundāle and the castle at nearby Bauska or drive out to the hip seaside town of Liepāja for excellent beaches with sand the consistency of flour, affordable design hotels and cheap, yet stylish pubs and clubs.
