In connection with the annual So Chef! festival this year Alliance Francaise hosts a French Market at the Alliance Francaise language school and library in Parkview. French Market you can also enjoy live music and a cooking demonstration by Soweto-born chef Wandile Mabaso, who learnt the fine art of classical French haute cuisine in New York and now in Paris where he works at Le Meurice, the celebrated two Michelin starred restaurant of renowned French chef Alain Ducasse.<br /> <br /> So Chef! is an annual celebration of French culinary culture organised with the help of IFAS (Institut Français d'Afrique du Sud) and the Alliance Francaise. The week-long festival includes workshops and cooking demonstrations in schools and universities across South Africa as well as a unique<strong> culinary movie night</strong> and a<strong> 'drink-along'' movie night</strong>, both of which are open to the public.
