The Troyeville Book Club is back with a special evening hosted by Lerato Tshabalala who presents her first book The Way I See It: The Musings of a Black Woman in the Rainbow Nation. Famous for her witty and insightful Urban Miss column in the Sunday Times, Tshabalala expresses the way democratic South Africa has managed to produce both joy, anger, frustration and excitement for young black professional South Africans.

In her debut book Tshabalala mixes a keen wit, brutal honesty and sharp insight into social, political and cultural affairs and shines a light on South African society and its quirky ways, from annoying car guards, gender politics and white-dominated corporate South Africa to economic and racial inequality and cultural stereotypes. The cover line reads 'Warning. Guaranteed to offend!'.

The event costs R70 per person and a dinner of the Troyeville's famous Portuguese fare is also available as part of the event (R229 per person). Booking is essential. Email laurence@troyevillehotel.co.za to book.

Starts 19:00 for 19:30 on Thursday July 14.
