Hello, my name is Boris, I was born in Sydney in Australia, now living in Zadar. I have my own company and my goal is to present the natural beauty of Croatia and Earth. ZIYP: What is your favourite city motif?
Boris: My favourite motif is first row of waterfront buildings in the port of Zadar. Second is Puntamika lighthouse in Zadar. Here, with this large lighthouse you can never miss a good shoot, no matter the weather or season.

ZIYP: Your favourite time of day/night when you like to go taking photos?
Boris: Almost certainly it is the early morning twilight and late afternoon, but also the
evening twilight. At these times nature is giving us the best colours; usually mornings have the cleanest air, and in the evening we usually have nice red and orange skies.
For city photography the blue hour (a period of twilight) is a nice short time when
there is still enough daylight after sunset combined with the beginning of the dark and yellow of the city lights.

ZIYP: If you were to take people on tour around Zadar, where would you go?
Boris: In Zadar for sure that is the Forum in the old town centre, and the boardwalk with its installations, the Sea Organ and Greeting to the Sun, an LED installation you can walk on. For the countryside and seaside around Zadar that would be:
Velebit mountain, a famous mountain with huge diversity and the island Dugi Otok - cliffs, caves, sandy and stone beaches, lakes, and the cleanest sea in the world.

ZIYP: A place to get the best photo/memory of Zadar?
Boris: The last few years the Sea Organ and Greetings to the Sun have been the most visited and most photogenic places in Zadar. It is here, I have to say, that I always try to shoot new scenes, unique images that are different and yet very interesting and representative of the city and the place where I live.

ZIYP: What is the best way to discover the city? Which activities do you recommend?
Boris: I definitely suggest a bicycle and walking tour, to avoid being crowded by cars and the parking that goes with it. This isn’t a metropolis, so a bike, your feet, and a few days of your time are all you need to discover the Adriatic beauty that is Zadar.
