The largest Armenian Apostolic Church going, the St Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral is imposing in a variety of ways. Completed in 2001, the central construction is built in classic Armenian style and can fit up to 1700 worshippers, frequently doing so as it becomes an ever increasingly important part of spiritual life in this most spiritual city. The church is actually a complex of three buildings, a cathedral and two smaller chapels, and a large equestrian statue of Adranik Ozanin is found in the gardens in front of the beaut. Remind us to start a band called Gregory the Illuminator as soon as possible.
