Zdzisław Jurkiewicz was a painter, photographer, architect, lecturer, poet and co-creator of the Wrocław avant-garde. In 1964, he moved to a studio flat on Wrocław's Łaciarska Street, which he turned into a peculiar laboratory for watching the night sky and cultivating exotic plants. Jurkiewicz’s careful observation of close and distant phenomena and real-life situations, which he called “occurrences,” as well as the important role of his flat in this practice, provide the starting points for this exhibition, which includes works by Les Levine, Dóra Maurer, Robert Morris, Philippe Van Snick, Miloš Šejn and Margita Titlová-Ylovsky.
