An audience visiting the National Museum will have a rare opportunity to view the newly restored famous silver altarpiece from the Wrocław Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. The altarpiece was made by two renowned artists representing Mannerism: goldsmith Paul Nitsch and painter Bartholomaeus Fichtenberger. The exhibition will also showcase other unique pieces of goldsmithing art made for the Wrocław Cathedral in Augsburg, which was in the 16th century the most important centre of goldsmithery in Europe.
