The New World, the main theme of the January concert, can be interpreted in two ways. On the one hand, it denotes the works written in the United States by European composers, on the other hand, it denotes the pre-war debut of one of the most important composers of the last century. An audience will have an opportunity to hear a pioneering work by Witold Lutosławski "Symphonic Variations", Béla Bartók's "Piano Concerto No. 3" written during the composer's stay in the United States, and Antonín Dvořák's "New World" Symphony No. 9, Op.95, also written in the United States. Piotr Anderszewski (piano) will be accompanied by the Wrocław Philharmonic Orchestra led by Giancarlo Guerrero.
