One of the most internationally-renowned Polish inventions was the Kerosene Lamp, developed by two chemists in Lviv (then Polish Lwów) in 1853. From that point on, this landmark in luminary technology would undergo a number variations in design and function over the next century. The Golden Age of Kerosene Lamps exhibition at Wrocław's Town Hall, Museum of Burgher Art presents some 150 kerosene lamps from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. It is one of the largest collections of this kind in Poland.
